Notes

The mascot, Sam the Eagle, created by C. Robert Moore from Walt Disney Production, was a great commercial success. It was reproduced as a soft toy, on glasses, paper plates, broaches, T-shirts, etc., but was never used as part of the Look. The financial operation was a great success, but it is regrettable, speaking from an aesthetics point of view, that the LAOOC did not decide to use the elements of the Look on the associated products. This was one of the first times that the Image of the Games broke away from the graphical line characterising the Olympiad.
