The first time children were used as mascots was for the 1994 Lillehammer Games. Haakon and Kristin are part of Norwegian folklore. Their clothes reflect their medieval roots, but their personalities correspond to a modern Norway. They represent the children of today: open, happy, free and inquisitive.
