The Organising Committee for the Nagano Winter Games in 1998 wanted the mascots to evoke the beauty of nature and a benevolent world, like the other elements of their visual identification. Each of these little owls has its own character. Their name, ‘Snowlets’ reminds us of snowand also encourages celebration (“let’s”).
