Sprint shoe used by Carl LEWIS (USA), Olympic champion, Los Angeles 1984. Carl Lewis, as one of only four Olympic athletes to have won nine Olympic gold medals, is widely recognised as one of the greatest athletes of all time. At the 1984 Games in Los Angeles, Lewis emulated his boyhood idol Jesse Owens by winning four gold medals in the long jump, 100, 200 metres (beating the Olympic record) and 4x100 metres (beating the world record).
