Richard DIEBENKORN (1922 – 1993)
American painter born in Oregon.
Initially, Richard Diebenkorn was influenced by Edward Hopper, for whose work he had a veritable passion. He subsequently developed his own style inspired by abstract expressionist painting. His discovery of Matisse’s works had an enormous influence on his Ocean Park series, which he started in 1967, consisting of approximately 135 paintings.
