Notes

Like the sports pictograms from the 1994 Lillehammer Games, the one which showed the Olympic Torch Relay was inspired by 4,000 year-old Norwegian cave engravings. Carved out of the forest, it became an integral part of the landscape and was a reminder of the Games’ claim to be close to nature and national traditions.
