Switzerland’s Vreni Schneider was the first woman to win five alpine skiing Olympic medals, starting with two gold medals in slalom and giant slalom at the 1988 Olympic Winter Games. At that time, she skied with Raichle Flexon boots based on designs by Sven Coomer, Al Gross and Erik Giese.
