Physical description
At the top there is the Olympic rings over the Olympic motto. In the middle, one finds the city's Coat-of-Arms and its motto: Vires Acquirit Eundo surrounded by two olive branches. Caption: "Diploma Olympic Games Melbourne 1956 / Dr. Giorgio di Stefani / International Olympic Committee". At the bottom there are the Signatures of the IOC President Avery Brundage, of the OCOG President and executive secretary R.G. Menzies and W.S. Kent Hughes.
