Diploma of the French exhibition at the World's Columbian Exposition of Chicago in 1893, awarded to Pierre de Coubertin.

Physical description

On the left France disembarks in America, followed by a sizable procession loaded by the trasures of it's industry. On the right Chicago's Fair is advancing on the threshold of it's palace. Caption: "Exposition universelle de Chicago 1893, diplôme commémoratif, section française hors-concours, à Monsieur le Baron Pierre de Coubertin, membre du comité 33, hommage de collaboration". Renaissance (?) style setting. Signed by the high commissioner of the French Government and by the minister of commerce, industry, post and telegraphs.
