Physical description
Maltese Cross in white enamel over a wreath of laurel and oak leaves. Medallion with a lion on the reverse in a black enamel background surrounded by the motto in French and Flemish "L'union fait la force / Eendracht maakt macht (Unity Is Strength)" and the initials "LR (=Leopold Rex) on the reverse. Purple ribbon with rosette.
