Phivos and Athina, the Athens 2004 Olympic Games mascots, recall the ancient Games. Their names are a reminder of the god of light and music, as well as Athens’ female protector and the goddess of wisdom. Their shape comes from the daidala, a type of children’s doll from Ancient Greece.
