Electronic timing device, used in the early 1970s.

Physical description

Electronic timing device launched in 1971 as part of the Télé-Longines family. This model is equipped with a quartz clock. The device measures times to 1/1000th of a second and prints them on a paper strip. It was used for timing various sports (including athletics, swimming, bobsleigh and luge) with simultaneous starts involving up to 10 competitors. The results can be displayed instantly on a television screen using the ‘Readout TV’ system developed by Longines in 1968. An advertising sticker for the Rivella brand is located underneath the appliance.
