The Organising Committee for the 2000 Games in Sydney asked illustrators with different artistic techniques to design the posters. This one, designed by David Lancashire, shows a kangaroo holding an olive branch. This Australian variation on the traditional dove and olive branch symbolised peace and reconciliation for the new Millennium.
