Physical description

Corrugated medal. Obverse: Winged victory over the clouds, holding a laurel wreath in his right hand, in his back the sky is dotted by the rays of the rising sun. Under the clouds lie the Adirondack Mountains with a winter sports stadium, ski jump and the scenery of Lake Placid at their feet. Reverse: Olympic symbol above the caption: "III OLYMPIC / WINTER GAMES / LAKE PLACID / 1932" with two laurel branches. Edge: hallmark of the manufacturer: "ROBBINS CO / ATTLEBORO" with the mention "STERLING".
