Physical description

Medal with a belly ring and two-coloured ribbon, light blue with white border. Obverse: hand carrying the Olympic torch in the centre. In the background, a view of the Adirondack Mountains. Caption on the left: "XIII / OLYMPIC / WINTER / GAMES" and Olympic symbol on the right. Reverse: on the right, a fir branch with three spikes. At the top, the emblem of the Games. Caption on the left: "LAKE / PLACID / 1980" and the name of the sport in English with the athlete's first and last name engraved underneath. Edge: manufacturer's hallmark: "TIFFANY & CO. STERLING SILVER © 1979".
