Berlin 1936, silver presentation torch for Carl Diem.

Physical description

Torch in sterling silver handmade by the berlin goldsmith H.J.Wilm. The torch show the route of the torch relay from Olympia to Berlin, July 20 to August 1, 1936. On the handle is engraved the inscription: Fackel-Staffel-Lauf, Olympia-Berlin 1936 (translation: Torch relay, Olympia-Berlin, 1936). Hallmark of guarantee underside the torch marked H.J.Wilm. Base is engraved "Dem Generalsekretär des organisationskomitees für dir XI. Olympiade in Berlin 1936 Dr. Carl Diem von seinen alten Mitarbeitern in Dankbarkeit gewidmet ( translation: to the general Secreatry of the Organizing committee for the XIth Olympic Games in Berlin , 1936, Dr Carl Diem . Dedicated with gratitude by the former colleagues).
