Physical description

Silk scarf printed with the medal's master artwork. Below on the left, emblem of Vancouver paralympic 2010; below on the right, text about the Vancouver 2010 Paralympic Medal: "The Vancouver 2010 Paralympic Medal Like every athlete's paralympic journey, every Vancouver 2010 Paralympic Medal is one-of-a-kind, yet connected through one shared story. Each medal incorporates a unique aspect of a Komoyue design depicting the raven over three parts, in the composition of a traditional West Coast First Nations totem pole. According to Komoyue culture, the raven is balanced in nature and circles the world observing life from many perspectives. The rave's great creativity also allows it to rise above the world's many challenges. These characteristics parallel those of Paralympic champions. The medal's dramatic form is inspired by the fluidity and dynamics of snow and ice, and the breathtaking environnement within the Host Region of British Columbia, Canada".
