Physical description

Obverse: various summer and winter sports equipment, among which are laurel branches symbolizing victory and a lyre symbolizing the cultural program of the Games, caption: "VIIIEME / OLYMPIAD / PARIS / 1924". Initials of the artist lower right: AR. Post-factum engraved: "3000 ; METRES / THIRD ; TEAM". Reverse: A naked athlete crowned with laurel helps his competitor seated on the ground to help him up. Below is the Olympic symbol. Signature of the artist: A. RIVAUD lower left. post-factum engraved: "B. H. MACDONALD". Edge: hallmark of the Paris Mint (cornucopia) with the wording "2ARGENT".
