Calgary 1988, commemorative ornament of the opening of the Olympic Oval.
Physical description
Wooden ornament with two metallic plaques. The first is a reproduction of the bronze sculpture "Brothers of the wind" by Robert Tait Mckenzie made in 1925 and located in the oval. It represents a group of speed skaters. The second plaque depicts the Calgary emblem and the captions: "Canada Celebration 88 ; Commemoration of the Official Opening of the Olympic Oval September 27, 1987 Government of Canada A Proud Olympic Partner ; Commémoration de l'inauguration de l'anneau olympique le 27 Septembre 1987 Gouvernement du Canada un fier partenaire olympique".
