Sydney 2000 Inaugurés à l’occasion des Jeux d’Helsinki en 1952, les programmes numismatiques participent au financement des Jeux. Leur iconographie met à l’honneur les monuments du pays hôte, ses richesses naturelles ou ses traditions. Une monnaies en or des Jeux d’Athènes en 2004 représente le Stade Panathénaïque rénové pour les Jeux d’Athènes en 1896.
