Artistic director Danny Boyle worked with head of costumes Tahra Zafar, a designer well known for her creations in major feature films such as The Fifth Element. Around 26,000 costumes were designed for the ceremonies. This dress and tights conjure up the bright colours and geometric patterns of 1960s Swinging London, and were worn during the final segment of the Opening Ceremony.
