Costumes for the flame-lighting ceremony at Olympia worn by a priestess and an athlete
Greek fashion designer Eleni KYRIACOU, a pupil of Alexander McQUEEN, drew her inspiration from the Greek landscape for the colour of the robes: olive green, earth brown and turquoise like the sea. By using these natural colours, Eleni KYRIACOU creates a link between the Ancient Games and the 21st century, and the growing need for peace between man and planet. In motion, the varying states from closed to open reveal variations in design and colour, creating an effect where the robes can be seen as sensors of movement.
