Physical description

Obverse: Olympic symbol surmounted by a flaming torch. In the background is "OLYMPIA". Caption of the medal: "JEUX OLYMPIQUES ; CITIUS ALTIUS FORTIUS ". Initials "TH.M / C.S." at the base of the Olympic symbol. Reverse: stylized facade of the Oslo City Hall above the caption: "DE VI. OLYMPISKE / VINTERLEKER / OSLO 1952 " with three crystals of snow. Letter "Y" from the name of the artist at the base of the medal. Edge: manufacturer's name: "TH. MARTHINSEN NORWAY " with the word " STERLING ".
