Physical description

Diploma written in Korean language with Korean flags and three red stamps. "In recognition and appreciation of his meritorous service, I take great pleasure, in accordance with the powers delegated to me by the Constitution of the Republic of Korea, in awarding the Order of Cultural Merit National Medal to Mr. Otto Mayer Switzerland. Serving as Chancellor of the International Olympic Committee, Mr. Otto Mayer has distinguished himself in the promotion of friendship between nations and world peace through maintenance of Amateur Sportsmanship during the period from 1964 to the present date. Particularly, Mr. Otto Mayer made every effort for the acceptance of the Korean Olympic Committee as a member of the International Olympic Committee in thr session held in Stockholm in 1947. He also provided unsparing assistance to our country toward taking part in the next Olympic Games as the single representative of the entire Korean Peninsula. His great contribution for the promotion of prestige and sports of this Republic has earned our deep appreciation and reflects great credit upon himself and the International Olympic Committee".
