PyeongChang 2018 – torch. The PyeongChang Games torch is symbolic in more ways than one. Its 700mm height is a nod to the city’s slogan “Happy 700” – a reference to the fact that the resort is located 700m above sea level, which is believed by many to be the optimal height at which to live. The golden sections in between the five-pronged fire symbolise the flame. They are designed to give the impression that the flame is bigger once the torch is lit. Finally, the star symbolises human beings hand in hand and the “Passion. Connected.” slogan, and serves as a call for peace and harmony. OCOG donation
