Los Angeles 1932, track & field shorts, cap and sweater belonging to William “Bill” MILLER (USA), Olympic pole vault champion. In 1932, William Miller was not the favourite to take the pole vault title, but he beat off competition from Bill Graber and outsider Shuhei Nishida from Japan to win the gold medal. Examining the photos of Miller and the other American athletes, it would appear that he probably wore the shorts during competition and that the sweater and cap were part of the US delegation’s uniform.
