Helsinki 1952 – uniform worn by Margaret Small, the USA team nurse between 1952 and 1964, and first aid kits from the 1952 Helsinki Games and the 1964 Innsbruck Winter Games. The USA team nurse’s uniform was both stylish and practical. The wooden case is empty; but we know that the contents of the Innsbruck 1964 first aid kit were left over from the Games. These contents – probably incomplete – offer an insight into what sports first aid entailed in the 1950s and 1960s. Family donation
