Munich 1972 – sports poster, athletics, signed by 60 athletes. This poster belonged to the seller’s father, who was a local policeman stationed at the Stadium during the 1972 Munich Games and who asked athletes for their signatures in person. Among the names on the poster are several medallists, including Renate Stecher (GDR), Dagmar Käsling (GDR), Kathleen Hammond (USA), Robert Ouko (KEN), John Akii-Bua (UGA) and numerous others. This poster is a testament to one fan’s enthusiasm, and offers an insight into the security presence at the Stadium in Munich and the interactions between the athletes and law enforcement personnel.
