Damaged ski helmet worn by Mathilde GREMAUD (SUI)
Sarah HÖFFLIN (gold) and Mathilde GREMAUD (silver) achieved the first-ever one-two placing for the French-speaking Swiss athletes in Olympic history, in the ski slopestyle event. But this fairy-tale ending might easily never have happened for Mathilde: On the Friday before the heats and the final, the skier from Gruyères suffered a serious fall during training.
As the ambulance raced to the casualty department for a head scan, the Swiss team held their breath... Shaken but not hurt, a relieved Mathilde could go on to win a medal the next day.
