PyeongChang 2018, safety lamp.

Physical description

Steel lamp with the emblem of the Games. The circular lower part is a paraffin reservoir, in the center a wick is visible behind a glass. Handle on the top, that is pentagonal, for transport.

Notes

PyeongChang 2018 – safety lamp. According to the organisers, once filled with 300 millilitres of paraffin, the safety lamp could keep the Olympic flame alive for 52 hours, including on a plane. Its design recalls that of the torch. It was also designed by Young-Se Kim. OCOG donation
