Los Angeles 1932 – Japanese commemorative medal. This medal, commissioned by the City of Tokyo, was awarded to officials from the Japanese delegation. These Games marked an important step in Japanese-American history. The 1932 edition was the first in which athletes from an Asian country competed against Western athletes. Japan finished fifth in the medal table, out of 39 participating countries. The Japanese delegation was the second largest at the Games, with 200 members.
