Squaw Valley 1960 – French Ski Federation badge belonging to Jean VUARNET (FRA). Vuarnet’s victory in Squaw Valley had a huge impact on his future career. After returning to France, he joined forces with a sunglasses manufacturer and launched a new brand, to which he gave his name. He became Director of the Morzine Tourist Office and set up a new resort, Avoriaz. He also served as head of the Italian Alpine skiing team in the early 1970s, and as Vice-President of the French Ski Federation. Donated by the athlete’s son
