Amsterdam 1916 – National Games poster. The 1916 Olympic Games were awarded to Berlin, but the First World War prevented them from going ahead. A series of national, or Olympic, competitions were held in various cities, including Berlin, Stockholm and Amsterdam. The poster’s creator, Willy Sluiter, produced many other works based on sporting scenes. Purchased at auction
