London 2012 – swimming costumes worn by Mariko SAKAI (JPN) in the final of the synchronised swimming team event. The synchronised swimming costumes and complementary hair accessories need to reflect the chosen theme, even though this has no bearing on the scoring. These costumes were designed by Japanese company Yukine Costume. The athlete said: “The team choreographer chose the music and the themes, but it was us, the swimmers, who suggested the themes based on the music.” Donated by the athlete at the Athletes’ Forum
