Barcelona 1992, Lithuanian team uniform. In 1992, Lithuania had not long gained independence from the Soviet Union. After seeing the team parade in a dull, sad-looking outfit at the Winter Games, Edward Domanskis, a Californian plastic surgeon and team doctor, decided to ask Issey Miyake to create a more artistic uniform. To reduce costs, as the team’s resources were very limited, the designer created the uniform free of charge, and got Japanese companies to provide the material and make the clothes.
