Replica of a Dassler shoe worn by Jesse OWENS (USA), four-time Olympic champion, Berlin 1936. This replica was given by OMEGA to Peter Hürzeler, the head timekeeper at Swiss Timing in the late 1980s. He was working with Jean-Pierre Bovay on putting together an exhibition for The Olympic Museum and asked Horst Dassler to provide him with a replica of the shoe worn by Jesse Owens. It was long thought that this Dassler model, which includes an original element from the 1930s, was the one worn by Owens at the Olympic Games Berlin 1936, although subsequent research has shown that this is the 1937 model.
