Los Angeles 1984 Set of Opening and Closing Ceremony drawings. René Lagler was born in Zurich and studied at the Art Center College of Design in Los Angeles. He has designed numerous televised ceremonies, including the Oscars, Grammy Awards, Emmy Awards and Country Music Awards. He was also the Production Designer for the Opening and Closing Ceremonies of the 1984 Games in Los Angeles. The donation of these preparatory drawings represents an important addition to our collections. The drawings give an insight into the ceremony creation process, technical and architectural aspects, the ideas chosen or rejected, and how scenes are built up. Donation by René Lagler
