Tokyo 2020, chalk bags used by Alberto GINÉS LÓPEZ (ESP), Olympic champion, and Christopher COSSER (RSA). If a climber has sweaty hands, chalk makes them less prone to slip, offering a better grip on the holds. Chalk bags stop the chalk from getting damp and are carried next to the body. They have to be easy to attach, and to open and close with both hands. Christopher Cosser’s bag was hand crafted by Warren Gans, who lives in Cape Town, using robust fabrics with colourful local patterns. Donated by the athletes
