In order to avoid spreading COVID among the Games participants and the Chinese population, and to apply the “zero-COVID” policy promoted by the Chinese government, a highly strict system was put in place during the Games: closed loop, regular testing, contact tracing, etc. These items now have a place in Olympic Games history.
