Curling stones glide over tiny pebbles of ice on the surface of the sheet. Unlike conventional brushes, which press down and surround the pebble, thereby reducing the speed of the stone, IcePad brushes isolate the friction caused by brushing only where the running surface of the stone has contact with the ice – on top of the pebble – with little resistance. In addition, the advanced waterproof material used makes the pads less abrasive, causing less damage to the ice and requiring less effort when sweeping.
