Turin 2006, ice hockey goalie helmet signed by Florence SCHELLING (SUI).

Physical description

Goalkeeper's helmet with a red and white brick wall with a mygalomorphs? on it. Black sticker with the Olympic symbol under the caption: "torino 2006", on the forehead. Two other stickers on the head: a little pig and a ladybird symbolising good luck. The bib number "41" is on both sides and on the back of the helmet. Signed by the athlete.

Turin 2006, ice hockey goaltender helmet signed by Florence SCHELLING (SUI). Florence Schelling bought this helmet on a trip to Canada. On seeing the spider, she thought that it would both give her protection and intimidate her opponents. Having bought it, she had a series of nightmares in which the spider was crawling over face… The wall is a reference to the nickname generally given to goaltenders, and the colours are those of her national flag. At the Turin 2006 Games, the Swiss team finished in seventh place. Donated by the athlete during a visit to The Olympic Museum
