Beijing 2022, costume and lantern carried by children with a light-up snowflake during the “Together for a Shared Future” part of the Closing Ceremony. The central theme of the ceremonies was the snowflake, which appeared in the various sections. The creative team drew inspiration from the verses of poet Li Bai, who almost 1,300 years ago wrote: “The snowflakes in the Yan mountains are as big as a mattress,” and the western proverb that says that “no two snowflakes are alike.” A way of expressing the idea that, despite their individual differences, all human beings are part of the same future.
