Notes

Beijing 2022, banners featuring the emblems and motto of the Olympic and Paralympic Games. Designed by artist Lin Cunzhen, the Beijing 2022 emblem combined traditional and modern elements of Chinese culture. Inspired by the Chinese character for “winter”, it combined the silhouettes of a skater and a skier. The ribbon motif between them symbolises the mountains and valleys of the host country and the Olympic venues. For its part, the joint motto for the Olympic and Paralympic Games, “Together for a Shared Future”, reflects the need to unite in order to work and move forward together. Donated by the OCOG
