2022 Princess of Asturias Award for Sports and accompanying diploma, presented to the Olympic Refuge Foundation and the Refugee Olympic Team. On 25 October 2022, the Olympic Refuge Foundation and the Refugee Olympic Team received the 2022 Princess of Asturias Award for Sports. The award, designed by Joan Miró, was presented by Leonor, Princess of Asturias, to IOC President Thomas Bach, who was accompanied by members of the Tokyo 2020 Refugee Olympic Team. The annual awards were established in 1981 to honour individuals, entities or organisations from around the world that have accomplished notable achievements in the sciences, humanities and public affairs.
