Paris 2024 – art posters for the Olympic and Paralympic Games: “Olympus 2024” and “Untitled” by Fanny Michaëlis. A powerful female figure is often at the heart of the colourful works by illustrator and comic book artist Fanny Michaëlis. “Sport isn’t an area I’m familiar with,” explains the artist. “But the symbolic significance of the Games and the almost mythological nature of their history, from the ancient iteration to the modern day, struck a chord with me. I had this rich heritage in mind as I worked, but I was also thinking about how the Paris Games tied into contemporary issues such as environmental concerns, our relationship with life in all its forms, and our relationship with technology.” Donated by the OCOG
