Moongcho, the mascot of the Gangwon Youth Olympic Games. Unlike the other mascots that arrived in March, this one has no sequins on the glasses and a tag.

Gangwon 2024, Moongcho, the YOG mascot. The name Moongcho comes from the Korean word “moongchida”, which means to bring together various thoughts and powers. Moongcho was brought to life through a national competition in which young Koreans submitted their designs and ideas. The top seven designers moved on to the next stage, in which experts who had taken part in the process to create the PyeongChang 2018 mascot helped them to improve the quality of their entries.
