My father’s participation in the Olympic Games was an enormous source of pride. Sport was his life; it was a passion that he embodied with his whole being. However, I remember his reaction when he received his suit, and the shirt was pink... a colour that, at the time, judokas weren’t used to wearing. We laughed a lot about it as a family. It might be for that reason that I didn’t find it among his belongings. But my memories are also overshadowed by the terrorist attack that took place. We were sat in front of our television, frozen in horror by what we were seeing.
