Notes

One of the main characters of the opening ceremony conceived by Thomas Jolly was a mysterious torchbearer who carried it throughout the ceremony across the rooftops of Paris. Nine people, men and women, hid under this mask, leaving the suspense open for the final torchbearer. The costume of this mysterious character could evoke the Phantom of the Opera or a character from the video game Assassin's Creed, depending on the viewer's cultural references.
