China concluded the 2026 Milano Cortina Winter Olympics with a total of 15 medals (5 gold, 4 silver, 6 bronze). On the podium the Chinese athletes wore this outfit designed by Li-Ning.
The podium outfit was presented in a palette of red and white. Red, a colour symbolic of China, reflected the nation’s cultural heritage, whilst white evoked winter landscapes.
Although functional, this outfit featured several refined details, from sparkling zips to a lining with geometric patterns. Traditional auspicious motifs, known as the ‘double victory pattern’, were applied to the shoulders and cuffs of the outfits. Formed by two intertwined diamonds, this motif symbolises victory and good fortune. A snowflake-inspired variation was incorporated into the “CHINA” lettering on the back of the outfits, expressing further wishes for success.
Beyond its aesthetic appeal, the outfit combined innovative materials and structural solutions designed to enhance warmth, breathability and wind protection.
