Obverse

In the middle, South Grand Gate, called Namdaemun. At the top, Games' emblem. Caption: "XXIV OLYMPIAD SEOUL 1988 ; 50000 WON".

Reverse

At the top, emblem of the Republic (Taeguk), supported by 5 roses of Sharon - the national flower - representing the Olympic Symbol. Caption (Korean): "The XXIV Olympiad Seoul Republic of Korea Bank of Korea ; 50000 Won 1986".
